When I was a kid, I remember my grandfather doing some modifications to his sedan -- adding a horn from an 18-wheeler to the one that was already under the hood. And then going out of the road with him as he tested it against the first pickup truck that distractedly drifted into our lane. Him being the incessant mechanical & electrical tinkerer that he was, I imagine he would've loved this...




And contrary to what's been said by its many detractors, the vuvuzela actually has a long, rich history.

No, seriously: this is a big historical day for modern South Africa. So that may have something to do with all the celebratory buzz.
